Original idea I had for the magic object was to be a newspaper but I wasn't sure what the newspaper would do however after some thinking I came up with an idea that it would enlarge the stickman that was walking along giving him a sense as he is inside of a newspaper. Possibly implying that he's in control of the newspaper as he graffiti on Boris Johnson face showing lack of respect and possibly vandalism
My filming process was that I have filmed majority of the stuff on Friday last week but I have been recording and shooting along the way when I felt that I needed something more. I.e. sound effects that came in later in the post production. I have recorded more than I needed but it was beneficial to me as I was able to choose what would work with the clip and what wouldn't meaning that I wasn't limited one shot.
I have decided to have a top down at the character to potentially make audience feel like they are above the character and potentially know more than the protagonist in the clip. Implying that the demographic would be higher social class and might not necessarily follow what the guy in the clip does. Furthermore, I have used special effects like smoke as soon as he enters/enlarges the newspaper to make it stand out rather than he just got bigger. Makes it more professional. Furthermore, it adds to the enigma of the clip as we don't why he got bigger and what is the purpose behind it.
For the editing to make the smoke effect transparent/opaque I have used a Key colour tool to select colour black and macro the colour out of the shot meaning that it became transparent. As well as to make the sound rise and fall I have used a pen tool where every point was selective.
I have done as much as I could even though in the beginning I was thinking to have it in the form of an animation however I have given up on that idea after realising that it is time consuming and I didn't have much time left. But except that I think that the clip is doing a good job as it tells a story yet in some points it stays abstract and unique in it's own way making it stand out.
After feedback I have realised that my video needs some improvements for example changing the font family when a character is in "Metro" magazine to something more lower class which would reflect his ideologies/behaviour. As well as I am planning to add a sound when a ladder pops out this would mean that I would be able to get rid of the phrase "What's that sound" meaning that the clip will be more organic/natural. Another thing it would be to make the magic object more obvious as currently it is there but it's not straight in your face. This could be done by adding sound from the newspaper before he enters it and when he enters it the sound are there but possibly lower volume. And the sound coming out from the newspaper is what will intrigue him to come in to that newspaper.
Furthermore, after analysing a short clip called "The Trip" by Szczechura which has a similar structure to mine and it has given me some inspiration/ideas I could get from the video that I could apply to my own for example I could add in the middle of the video a bit of a break/going out of the reality.
